Operations Update Regarding Town Services
March 20, 2020
The COVID-19 Pandemic is causing many modifications to daily life as we know it. During this time of uncertainty, the Town wants to reassure residents regarding the continuity of Town services and ask that residents take note of the following:
a. The Town has taken preventative measures to acquire the required materials to keep both the potable water system and the sewer system operating as designed. There will not be any interruption of service in those areas.
2. Spring Thaw
a. With spring finally arriving, it looks like the weather will start to warm up in the coming weeks. The Town has hired a contractor to open ditches around the perimeter of the Town starting on March 23, 2020 to ensure when the snow melts that the water has somewhere to go. The Town has once again rented a culvert steamer and will ensure if culvert/drains are frozen that they will be opened in a timely manner. Town Staff will also be using a front-end loader to open ditches where required within the Town itself.
a. Town owned facilities remain closed during this time. Building upgrades and maintenance will continue to happen to prepare for when they re-open to the public.
a. The Town is continuing to send out Request for Proposals and award contracts to ensure sidewalk installations, road repairs and other infrastructure improvements get completed in 2020.
b. The CRRC construction is still ongoing.
