The Town of Niverville is proud to open the Niverville Community Splash Pad. The Grand Opening was Tuesday, July 12, 2015 at 5:30 PM at Hespeler Park. Representatives from Town Council, the Provincial and Federal Government will be in attendance.
Over a year of planning and building has gone into the Niverville Community Splash Pad. The Splash Pad is set to open just in time for another warm Manitoba summer. The Splash Pad is located in Hespeler Park on the east side between Soccer Pitch A and Baseball Diamond 4. The Splash Pad is approximately 3,500 square feet, and in addition includes a washroom/change room and canteen building, and a maintenance & storage building.
The Splash Pad features two distinct areas of play: a toddler water play area for ages 0-3 and a family play area for ages 3-12. Water features are bright and colourful. The Splash Pad is fully accessible and inclusive for all ages and abilities.
“The Niverville splash pad and facility upgrades at Hespeler Park are the result of people working together to benefit the community,” said the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Western Economic Diversification. “Recreational facilities, like this one, create an inclusive environment for play and childhood development and encourage community connections.”
The Town of Niverville would like to thank the Western Economic Diversification Canada for the Canada 150 Funding. This funding was announced a year ago by our MP Ted Falk, and was used to cover a portion of building costs towards the washroom/change room and canteen building. The Town of Niverville would also like to thank local builder Heritage Lane Builders for not only their construction of the washroom/change room and canteen building, but also for their monetary contribution towards the completion of the building.
The Splash Pad itself was completely funded by the Town of Niverville as part of its ongoing mandate to build and improve the recreation facilities with the Town of Niverville for the benefit of all residents young and old alike.
