*END OF UPDATE*

The Town of Niverville would like to inform residents of upcoming changes to road closures along 4th Avenue South, which may temporarily restrict access to some residents’ property. These closures will start the afternoon of Wednesday, September 4th, 2024, and last for up to 4 weeks, depending on the weather. Please see the map below for a visual of where these closures will be.

These closures are taking place so that concrete along both sides of 4th Avenue South can be poured, dried, and cured safely and efficiently. Once this has been done, the remaining driveway restoration and asphalt preparation can begin.

The last week of this 4-week closure will include total closure along the stretch of 4th Avenue South currently under construction. This closure will be for the final prep and installation of asphalt pavement, and to allow the asphalt time to cool and set. This closure should be in effect for roughly a week, depending on weather. The Town of Niverville will endeavor to keep affected residents informed of when this complete closure can be expected.

As we draw closer to the start of the school year, we are also considering the needs and safety of our students. The Town of Niverville asks all students who do not live along this section of 4th Avenue South to detour around the construction site using the surrounding streets. For students who live along this section of 4th Avenue South, the Town asks you to use the sidewalk along the west side of the street if it is available, otherwise, please use the boulevard along the east side. Please be aware that this is still an active construction site, and all construction activities and/or equipment have the right-of-way.

If you or anyone in your residence has mobility or accessibility concerns, please reach out to the Town Office as soon as possible. We hope to reasonably accommodate any concerns that you may have. You can reach us by email at feedback@whereyoubelong.ca or by phone at 204-388-4600.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as the Town of Niverville works to provide it’s residents with safer streets.
