Mosquito Larviciding

July 6, 2017

The Town is continually monitoring standing water for mosquito larvae.

This process involves testing pools of water found in ditches for mosquito larvae and then spreading a granular corn based eco-friendly non-threatening product that dissolves in water, leaving an oily film on the surface preventing larvae from maturing.  The Town of Niverville has never participated in a fogging program unless mandated by the Province of Manitoba for health concerns regarding the West Nile Virus.  While the Town does not intend to fog the community, an individual owner always has the right to purchase their own equipment and fog their own property.
