Niverville’s government consists of a 5-member Council; a Mayor, Deputy Mayor and 3 Councillors. Elections are held in accordance with The Municipal Act every 4 years or as required by bi-election to fill vacancies. The current term began in October 2022 and will end with elections on the fourth Wednesday of October 2026.
Members of the community are encouraged to consider running for Council. An open mind and a community passion are a great place to start. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age on the day of the election, a Canadian citizen, a resident of the province, a voter of the municipality, and not subject to any disqualification under The Municipal Act or any other Act. More information on municipal elections is available by talking to a member of Council, the Senior Election Official or the Province of Manitoba.
