August was Council’s last month on its summer schedule, and they will return to two meetings a month starting in September. This is also our last LMAC until after the upcoming municipal election, but keep an eye out in November when we will dive right back in!
Some highlights from August:
- Council held public hearings for, and approved, 3 Conditional Use applications and 1 variance Application.
- Council held first reading of both the new Development Plan Bylaw and the new Zoning Bylaw.
- The combined public hearing for both will be happening on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, at 7:00 PM, at the Niverville CRRC. Learn more on the Town of Niverville’s website.
- Council directed Town Administration to prepare a bylaw to rename Arena Road to Nighthawks Way, and have it ready for first reading at the September 1st Council meeting.

Tuesday, August 18th, 2026 Council Meeting
- Council held a public hearing for, and approved, Conditional Use application C22-26, which allows for a single-chair, appointment-only, nail salon at Unit 1 – 735 Schultz Avenue, subject to the condition that:
- The business owner acknowledges that the area their business is in is zoned to accommodate industrial uses and to provide areas where industrial operations can function and expand without negatively affecting other businesses, and therefore may not object to future industrial uses or expansions within the Niverville Business Park that are permitted under the Zoning Bylaw.
- Council held a public hearing for, and approved, Conditional Use application C23-26, which allows for the continued operation of a Bed and Breakfast at 50 Claremont Drive, subject to the following conditions:
- That the business complies with the use-specific standards for Bed and Breakfasts as outlined in the Town’s Zoning Bylaw; and
- That the business owner obtains an annual business license from the Town.
- Council held a public hearing for, and approved, Conditional Use application C24-26, which allows for a bath and body production facility along with storage at Unit 7, 41089 6th Avenue North, subject to the condition that:
- Any exterior storage shall either a) be enclosed within a fence that is opaque on the side facing 6th Avenue North, or b) comply with the Niverville Business Park Design Guidelines in effect at the time of development.
- Council held a public hearing for, and approved, Variance application V25-26 to allow for reduced front yard setbacks to no less than 25 feet, reduced rear yard setbacks to no less than 16 feet 6 inches for 43, 47, 51, and 55 Fairway Drive, along with reduced North and South side yard setbacks to no less than 7 feet 6 inches for 43 and 55 Fairway Drive.
- Council approved payment of $2,483,965.34 in cheques and electronic fund transfers.
- Council approved the July 31, 2026 Financial Statement as presented.
- Council approved the December 31, 2025, Audited Consolidated Financial Statement as presented.
- Council gave first reading to Bylaw 898-26, a bylaw to establish sewer rates within the Town of Niverville.
- Council gave first reading to both Bylaw No. 894-26 and Bylaw No. 895-26, which are bylaws to adopt a new Development Plan and a new Zoning Bylaw, respectively, for the Town of Niverville.
- The combined public hearing for these bylaws is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Niverville CRRC, 501 Centre Street, Niverville, MB, R0A 0R0. Click the link here to learn more.
