Town Project Updates

Project updates for the week of July 2, 2018.


Town staff hope all of the kids out of school for summer holidays enjoy their time off.

The following new work is anticipated to begin this week:

  • Main Street Sidewalks:
    • South-side between 2nd and 3rd Avenues South excavation is anticipated to begin. Access to properties may be limited at times. Please refrain from using the sidewalk on the south-side until further notice.
    • North-side between 2nd and 3rd Avenues North is open this week as concrete has now cured.
      • Please be careful as the boulevard portion (area between the sidewalk and the road) will be poured this week.
        • New trees will be planted along these boulevards this fall

The following work is anticipated to begin next week and continue through the month of July:

  • Road Repair Program with Diamond Construction
    • This year the program is focused on 2nd Street North, Ashgrove Crescent, Maplewood Crescent, 1st Street South, Bentley Place, Claremont Drive, and Andover Place
    • There will be limited driveway/road closures as this rehab work is done. Contractor will be notifying residents if access to property is limited.
  • 3rd Street South asphalting (between 4th and 5th Avenues) will be completed, anticipate full road closure while this work is underway.
  • Tree pruning and clearing in the back lane between 2nd and 3rd Street North.
  • Excavation in the Wetlands will be commencing to create new walking paths with Hespeler Park.
  • Taillieu Construction will be out doing restoration of excavated areas created during the water source installation in the fall of 2017. This includes 5th Avenue walking paths as well as ditch repair on 5th Ave South and Crown Valley.
