The Town of Niverville now has a new fire by-law!
This bylaw, named “The Fire Prevention and Emergency Services By-law No. 864-24”, takes the place of the previous three fire by-laws that the Town has had, by consolidating them into one, making it that much easier to find information on these topics!
In this by-law, you can find info on:
- Fireworks Permits
- Burning Bans
- Fire Pits & Barbeques
- Smoke Alarms & Fire Protection Systems
- And much more!
Furthermore, a couple of changes and additions have been made to the existing regulations, to bring Niverville more in line with other urban municipalities. This includes such things as:
- No fees for permits, to ensure that all fires are done safely and responsibly.
- Permits can be found at: https://www.whereyoubelong.ca/town-services/community-services/licenses-and-permits/
- Permits are not required for fire pits, outdoor fireplaces, or outdoor barbeques, subject to complying with all requirements noted in the by-law.
- Fire pits are now allowed on driveways, provided they are elevated and at least 10 feet from a combustible structure.
- Chinese lanterns are no longer allowed due to safety concerns.
